Pricing and merchant-services questions

What does SecureTrust do?
SecureTrust helps businesses with merchant services, 2.00% + 3¢ standard processing, Clover POS, Dual Pricing, virtual terminals, payment gateways, statement reviews, equipment planning, and dedicated agent support.
What is SecureTrust standard processing pricing?
SecureTrust standard processing is 2.00% + 3¢ per transaction for approved SecureTrust merchant accounts, plus a $25 monthly platform fee. Equipment, software, gateway, leasing/financing, and other optional or account-specific charges may apply. Card-brand assessments are not added separately on top of SecureTrust standard 2.00% + 3¢ processing.
What does SecureTrust charge for the Cash Discount program?
SecureTrust lists a $9.99 monthly program fee for the applicable Cash Discount program.
Can SecureTrust review my current statement?
Yes. We can review monthly processing volume, transaction count, average ticket, effective rate, card-present and keyed activity, gateway costs, equipment costs, and other account fees before recommending a setup.
Why does SecureTrust publish its processing rate?
SecureTrust publishes its standard 2.00% + 3¢ processing rate so merchants can calculate the basic processing cost before speaking with a sales representative or providing a processing statement. The published standard rate is not intended to be individually increased based on what a merchant may be willing to pay or how the merchant negotiates. Equipment, software, gateways, financing, underwriting requirements, and other account-specific costs may still vary.
Does SecureTrust use my statement to decide what standard rate to charge me?
No. SecureTrust's standard processing price is already published. We use a merchant statement to understand the business's current volume, transaction count, average ticket, effective cost, equipment, gateway use, and other fees so we can determine how the existing setup compares with our published pricing and available payment programs.
Why do some merchant-service providers not publish one processing rate?
There are legitimate reasons merchant-service pricing can vary, including industry, risk, transaction method, card mix, monthly volume, equipment, software, and other account requirements. Quote-based pricing can also give a provider or salesperson more discretion over the markup offered to an individual merchant. When pricing is not published, merchants should ask whether the processor markup is standardized or individually determined and request the complete percentage rate, transaction fee, monthly charges, equipment costs, gateway or software fees, and other recurring charges in writing.

Dual Pricing questions

What is Dual Pricing?
Dual Pricing presents customers with payment-based pricing, such as a cash price and a card price, through the approved POS and checkout workflow.
Does SecureTrust keep the added card-price amount?
No. SecureTrust processes the full card transaction at the approved rate and does not keep the added card-price difference as an extra markup. The remaining amount stays with the merchant.
Can Clover automate Dual Pricing?
Yes. When the approved Dual Pricing program is configured on Clover, the POS can handle the customer-facing payment pricing automatically so staff do not need to manually calculate the difference.
What does the $100 → $103 example look like?
If the customer pays $103.00, 2.00% processing is $2.06 plus the $0.03 transaction fee, for a total processing cost of $2.09. The merchant receives approximately $100.91 in that example.

Flat-rate vs Interchange Plus questions

Does SecureTrust offer Interchange Plus?
No. SecureTrust currently focuses on its published 2.00% + 3¢ standard processing structure and other available merchant programs rather than Interchange Plus.
Why does SecureTrust prefer flat-rate pricing?
Interchange Plus can make the processor markup look very small, but merchants still pay underlying interchange, card-brand costs, transaction charges, and other fees. SecureTrust emphasizes comparing the total effective cost rather than only the advertised markup.
Is flat-rate processing always cheaper?
No pricing model is automatically cheapest for every merchant. The correct comparison is the merchant's total effective cost using actual statement data. SecureTrust can compare an existing Interchange Plus account against its published standard pricing.

Equipment and contract questions

What happens if the business closes?
For qualifying equipment agreements, documented business closure can support cancellation under the leasing-company process. Equipment must be returned, and cancellation is completed after the leasing company receives the equipment. The written agreement controls.
Can the equipment agreement transfer if the business is sold?
An approved transfer process may allow the equipment agreement to move to the new business owner, subject to the leasing-company process and the applicable written agreement.
Are processing and equipment agreements always the same?
Not necessarily. Processing and equipment obligations may be separate, so merchants should review both agreements and understand which obligations continue if processing changes or ends.
Where can I review the contract details?

Clover POS and payment-tool questions

Does SecureTrust support Clover POS?
Yes. SecureTrust supports Clover POS setups including Clover Flex, Clover Mini, Clover Station Duo, Clover Go, and other Clover workflows depending on the business.
Do I need Clover POS to use SecureTrust?
No. Depending on the business workflow, SecureTrust can also help with virtual terminals, payment gateways, payment links, invoice payments, mobile payments, and other merchant-services tools.
What is a virtual terminal?
A virtual terminal allows authorized staff to enter payments without a physical card reader and can support phone payments, keyed transactions, deposits, invoices, and back-office payments.
What is a payment gateway?
A payment gateway can connect online or remote payments to the merchant account and support website checkout, hosted pages, invoice payments, payment links, and virtual terminal workflows.

Support and service-area questions

Do SecureTrust merchants get a dedicated agent?
Yes. SecureTrust merchant accounts receive ongoing support from a dedicated agent who can help with setup, statements, equipment, payment programs, processing questions, and support after activation.
